You should really read what you post.
So you'd be OK with JB stagnating and shrinking for the better part of 15 years and legacies dumping capacity onto JB routes to get your management to blink while legacy pilots enjoyed comically short upgrade times only a fraction of the term of furloughs your group was experiencing? And bonus, what if legacy pilots took concessions to drive their pilot CASM down specifically to help make it possible?

You've had your run. The timing was just perfect. But times are changing and so called LCC's and their endless growth schemes are in the cross hairs of some very talented and prosperous legacy airlines ready to simply take a portion of what you grew into back. Lets all hope they can do it.

While that would certailly be ironical and stuff, slots/gates/whatever are very hard to get there and I'm not sure how much, if any, revenue premium can be extracted from flying there. Worth a try though I guess.

Then I guess game on.

Hopefully there will be lawsuits to force them to divest some of that monopoly.... you know.. in the interest of lower fares and all...

Oh that supreme irony is not lost on me one bit. I'm just wondering how valueable that particular airport actually is in the Dallas market. While it may be preferred to some degree by some people on that side of town, can it and does it command any significant premium at all?

I did think it was pretty funny watching SWA spin all this "new service!" out of LUV when all they're really doing is dumping Wright routes and spamming their own hubs/focus cities.

DL experimented with 50's in LUV but I don't think it worked out that great. I just don't see it being some sort of HND wunderport. Dallas is a great market though and DL does need to get a portion of what they gave up back.
