Default Electronic LogBooks??? Anyone?

I am debating buying LogBook Pro and a Palm pilot (to make entries while I'm out and about).

Have any of you ever used this software? Did you like it? Is it good with keeping up with 121 rest requirements, expenses, n such?

Can you recommend any other software?

Thanks!!!

Thumbs up logbook

I can recommend a GREAT Logbook developed by a NW pilot up in SEA.

It's called PDLog....not only does it allow you to keep your times; it will allow you to check T/O and Land currency for you wide body types that don't always get the needed "stuff" to remain current.

The real deal about it is that once a year (tax time) you can download the CONUS or OCONUS rates into it (for a small fee) and it will figure out automatically and print out for your records, the amount of Per Diem you are entitled to claim on your taxes. NO manual interpolation required. No mailing crew statements or a copy of your logs to a tax guy halfway across the country.

Been using it for years...lasts long time.

Search for Captains Log 2000. Pda function that downloads to program on computer works great. There could be few improvements but overall very satisfied customer.

Go to dauntless aviation. Their logbook is great. They are the same people that I continue to recommend for test prep. They have package deals.

Quagmire,

I've been using Logbook Pro for about a year now and absolutly love it. It's very easy to use. I just finished inputting nearly 6000 hours into it. (Thanks to a deployment to the Middle East, I had some extra time on my hands) It is customisable to anything you need. The service from the company is great. I had a technical issue with my Pocket PC version, they responded quickly and got me up and running. (The problem was with the me...the user not their product.) They have a great video series on their website demonstrating all the features. Last week I had to fill out an FAA Form 8710 for my ATP. We all know what a pain in the neck filling out the flight times on those are. They have a feature that figures all the flight times out.

I've owned a few other programs in the past and Logbook Pro beats them all hands down.

I also use logbook pro. Ive used several in the past and found this to be the one for me. The help files are full of online videos etc which make it easy to get to know. There are several PDA companion programs one of which is the airline pilots daily log. Its capable of downloading schedules depending on your airline..
