My $.02 worth- make your decision based upon the situation as it exists, but maintain your lifestyle as if the good times won't continue forever.

This is wise advice. People should print that out, and tape it above their office desks.

If you choose CAL, it is a good decision based on a good track record. They have a good airline.
Quote of the week. I second that. It's like saying the govmnt is going change the tax laws. Have to play the game today. Impossible to predict in this industry.

I certainly don't have a crystal ball, other than to see AA and APA screwing any other carrier's pilots who are lucky enough to be acquired in the future!

I don't know if anyone else has looked at it yet, but if you take the UAL-CAL merged seniority list from APC and sort it by DOB, by the end of 2007 (assuming age 60 stays), another 570 people will retire and that's from the merged list. Also according to APC, there are only 100 people still awaiting call back (900 bypassed). So even if there is a merger and route reductions, it probably wont be too bad. I'd still hate to see it happen though....
