Thanks for the reply. Yup, tough is an understatement! Retired in June and in training at a regional now to stay current/ build part 121 time. At what they're paying, the family and I can only afford to do this for a little while! Hoping we all get the call soon...

Don't give up. I got out of the Navy in April of '81. The controllers went on strike shortly thereafter. I was 31 at the time so no Major Airline would hire me. Worked a number of different places until hired at NWA Jan of 85. Had a great 27 year career at NWA/DAL. Good luck and hang in there!

Yeah, I hear ya. Thanks for the replies. Hopefully this is just the initial swell of this hiring wave that's supposed to happen and we'll all move on to better places, especially you folks that've been waiting since 2007!!!

If I knew the formula to getting a call I'd happily share but unfortunately the guys who really know don't seem to be sharing so all we've got is rumor, hearsay, and patience to build our apps. I feel very fortunate to have gotten the call to interview when there are so many guys who are at least as qualified as me (if not more) who haven't been called. I just hope the C in my CJO goes away and I'm able to start training at my first available opportunity because I certainly don't like the idea of starting the job hunt process again.

My last 4 begin with 03XX, I'll get whatever goes last. I'm so happy to be hired I hardly care anyway. What a great problem to have, I didn't get my 1st choice in DAL's fleet.

Newest AA hire from the late June group: 3000'ish TT, 1250'ish IP..... IP in every platform.... Happy to be on board.
All I can say is be patient, hang in there and so far there is no magic formula to getting hired. I have had app's in since 2010 everywhere and just now getting on board....... If we could create a formula to crack the HR computer codes we would be millionaires....
The HR team at AA is awesome, supportive and energetic and truly happy to have you in from day 1.
Best of luck to everyone waiting and remember patience is key.
