Sorry about that, I was just posting my "hired" status with respect to the original purpose of the thread and not in response to any previous discussions.

I included certain stats about myself for the benefit of others looking to move up, as during the application process I was concerned about things like lack of turbojet time, checkride failure, and speeding tickets...

So, just information for information's sake...
Brother, you did nothing wrong......except making the assumption that people utilize these forums for the sharing of helpful information in a collegial and professional manner, and assuming that people trying to figure out this profession would have a place to come and be helped by those already in the profession.

The amount of angry, sarcastic, flaming, and disturbingly anti-helpful posts across all the different threads is disappointing to say the least. Read and post here at your own peril.

I think of all the forums, this one is the most professional. The moderators do a great job of keeping things clean, and most people who post try to do so without insulting others. The other thing is if you post on here enough, your identity becomes known throughout the industry and you eventually lose your anonymity, so posting on here does give others an initial impression.

I got the CJO from DAL, 19 of 23 this week got the CJO.

Thanks Sliceback. I appreciate your mentorship, you gave me a lot of tremendous info about AA, and like I've told all my friends at AA who tried to help me get on there, I'm a little sad I wont be joining you guys. I will always remember that regardless of who is employed by who, professional courtesy goes a long way in this industry. Im very grateful to you guys at AA. And seeing as two United pilots and a FedEx pilot prepped me for the interview, I'm grateful to them as well! This is the shining light in the industry that keeps me optimistic about our collective future. I'm looking forward to a great career at DAL. They've shown me that they not only value their pilots, but they are exceptional in everything they do. And, of course, they're the best airline to me because they hired me .

Thanks! Gonna miss you guys. The -400 is such a great airplane that will likely remain the best I've flown in my career, not to mention the amazing layovers with phenomenal crews. Over the next few months I'll make the most out of my final few spins around the world with you guys!

Ghilis - DL's an excellent airline and the current 800 lbs gorilla. Can't go wrong there. But if Brand X is your #1 choice keep applying. Back in the mid 1980's it wasn't uncommon for guys to have multiple choices OR work for several majors.

If Brand X isn't hiring, or is hiring slowly, the crossover point of staying vs. going gets extended and could be several years. If Brand X is hiring significant numbers the decision point, "I'm better off here now", comes quicker.

Ghilis,

That is also why I asked, Are you going to take the job at DL? You should go to where you really want to go. It seems like Brand X is really your first choice. Life is too short, dont settle or waste your time on things that arent your true intention. Good Luck.
