He kinda did. Just look a little closer. He got the invite from VX in February and the Hogan from UAL in March. His quals should be roughly the same to what he posted when he took the Hogan. No dramatic change could take place. He may have a Bus type rating, but he was already on United's radar when he took the Hogan.

Got a CJO from United!

Here is my info:

Military only

4400 multi-engine turbine

Two Master's degrees
App in since May 16
Hogan in Oct
Interview in Dec

I also got the invite for an interview with SWA. Any advice? Is SWA good enough to use days off for the interview? Pretty stoked about United already.

Where do you want to live?? Unless a SW domicile is a better choice there's probably no reason to interview with SW.

Planning to move to a hub for whichever company I go with. I'm ok with commuting short-term. Thinking about Denver though, and I've heard good and bad about both companies there.

I chose Delta over SWA so I'm biased, but I would not think twice about taking UAL first. They have a very big widebody (read higher paying) fleet and their CEO seems to be turning the airline around. No disrespect to SWA as they are an excellent carrier.
