Good thing we have strafing and air-air missile experts on here.

It always goes silly when we start comparing apples to oranges. If we are going to do this, we have to have a benchmark in place and use specifics.

My hat is off to our veterans, no question.

To tell you the truth, I EXPECT our military pilots to perform at a high standard, and the same of guys like me (100% civilian).

No matter what your background, if any pilot makes my tie go up at a 70 degree angle (when it's not supposed to be), or can't land in the touchdown zone...you may not need to be there.

Ops check good!

AA hiring in the last cycle required 6-8 yrs experience to be qualified. That meant approx. 1000hrs fighter, 2000 hrs mil hvy, or 3500 civilian.

If you fly with enough guys you realize the pilot's background doesn't make the individual and at a certain point longevity(TT) can be seriously overrated.

Lately on this forum, I've only heard crickets coming from the AA camp. Anyone been hired there lately? Juicy rumors? Other?

For the last 6 months it was almost exclusively Envoy flows and recalls Wth a smattering of OTS guys. There are guys who interviewed before Jan with CJO's waiting to hear on class dates. There is another group who interviewed after Jan and were not given a CJO or TBNT. They were basically told the process was on hold. They MIGHT get a CJO someday. Pretty much a huge kick in the balls, hopefully they've all continued pursuing other airlines. I'm of the opinion that the Envoy flow is a ridiculous concept. Yes it needs to be honored contractually, so I'm not sure what can be done about it.

The good news for future street hires is that the majority of the flows are in their late forties/early fifties so likely won't be senior but younger to an OTS.
