Just wondering if my time is competitive former mil guy with 2300ish PIC and 2900 total all turbine time with some Heavy B-52 hrs if that matters?

It depends. What are you doing now? By itself it's fine if you're still flying. If it's from x years ago and you're not current it isn't.

I'd highly recommend getting 121 qual'd if I was a retired/retiring military guy. MIL/IP/121 seems to generate a fair amount of attention.
