He will get a lawyer, paid by the taxpayers, who will find a doctor,
paid by the taxpayers, who will say he has an "illness". He will
then get six months of counseling, paid for by the taxpayers, while
getting full pay and benefits and be back on the job by spring.

FAMs are not always our buddies. Most do a great job, but there is a famous case of a FAM at our company who accused the CA of being under the influence when they met on the AC prior to departure.

Not having the authority to physically detain him, the CA departed the plane immediately, passing two airport police in the concourse area hurrying to the jet.

He drove himself to the local hospital and had an immediate blood test done. The union said everything he did was perfect for the situation.

Then he will get a promotion to GS-14 and become a supervising FAM.
