Actually, the answer is a matter of context. Is this a US based airline? If not... "Jumpseating" means something different depending on the country. My parents have jumpseated (neither is a pilot). I was once offered two cockpit jumpseats when travelling with my 2 year-old (as in: ~24 months). I didn't think it was a great idea, but it was offered. The Captain only needed me to confirm she would behave. Turns out there were enough seats for the family, but not me. So my wife and I took turns jumpseating and watching the little one. She got to watch the landing. Different time, and a different place.

THANK YOU! You must be a...ROGER RAMJET also....
I use the Jump seat to commute to and from work!
It is NOT MY jump seat or YOURS to ruin!
We have Jump seat ETIQUETTE.
I Have found many "250hr wonders" that have not learned this!
Ya, I'm old... They didn't have 250hr RJ Pilots running around thinking they where Gods gift to Aviation when I started.
CFI, Single pilot night freight in a BE-18 etc.
So dress smart, have your papers ready and say " May I ride your jump seat SIR/MAM"? When you get off " Thank you again for letting me ride YOUR jump seat".
