Ahhh, I see where you're coming from. After all the flak you've gotten here, it amazes me how some spouses/significant others really don't understand and won't accept the employee's explanations about the rules and expectations of some of the few benefits we have in this industry. Good luck!

What about jumpseating with a giraffe?
Giraffe would be a no-go, but a zebra might be OK - since it's a horse of a different color.

Perhaps don't be cheap and buy the entire family positive space tickets and sit together...unless you don't want to sit with them after the vacation!

Ask your wife if it's OK for little lambchop to ride
in the overhead bin. Then duck. Guarantee you
will flying sans bambino.

The way I see it, wife and little one travel to Point "C" with a stop over in Point "B" without papa. Papa wants to J/S on a nonstop flight, possibly in F/C without the risk of wa we wa from the future rug rat.

What happens when if the second one comes along

Not cool mate. No cognac for you

I've never had a Jumpseater walk up to the cockpit with a baby in arms.

Of course I've never thought about using a Jumpseater in any emergency unless they were company. If its evacuation related I'd let the FAs pick who they want to use from the cabin.

Just gate check the kid, but make sure you put a crew tag on it so you get it at the gate and it doesn't go to baggage claim.

If you have to ask, you obviously can't afford it...
