Delta Hiring News

Not trying to get into a ****ing contest over mil vs. GA civ. My point is they should be looked at on an equal footing absolutely. Corporate jobs run the gamut. The individuals and their type of flying etc..should be looked at and no need to check a 121 box. There is an enormous amount of talent in those ranks who have been flying metal safely all over the planet, while juggling many other jobs within their flight dept. The most qualified would be at the top of my list...be it 121, GA or military. No background bias.

Trying or not, that is what you're doing. I am a believer in what you're selling, there are great traits in pilots from all backgrounds but trying to justify how difficult your job is as a reason to be picked first over other avenues won't win you any friends or arguments. You knew before you took your corporate gig what the deal was with major hiring -- they like military time and they like piles of civilian 121 PIC. I'm sure you had great reasons and did the best you could, but complaining about a process you knew going in and are now trying to buck just sounds like sour grapes.
I've flown with all types at Delta over the years. They do a great job of hiring. No sour grapes here, I'm very happy where I am. Senior to You!

Who isn't senior to me ? My point is this entire process is something of a known quantity. Nobody changed the rules midway through, there are lots of great reasons to go corporate, but being competitive at a major isn't one of them. Complaining that corporate isn't getting a fair shake just reminds me of the people who complain about needing a degree. Yes, they have great points but it's just wasted space. Arguing/debating/bltching about it won't change the reality of the situation. Hiring departments aren't reading these forums looking for pointers on how to better hire the next batch of pilots .
