If you have a bad lease and want out of it, definitely bring the car.

I shouldn't laugh, I have to be down there for training for a week soon and I love my truck.

Unless u are every guy in DTW who's hat is always located in the back of their bag. I've been told these are NWA guys but who knows. It is quite funny to see though.

Be sure to tell them that when you interview. They really appreciate honesty.

Right now, our junior bases are LGA and MIA. S-80 in LGA, and 737 in MIA. Recently some recalls have gone to ORD S-80, but I wouldn't expect that on a regular basis. DCA S-80 used to go junior, but the S-80 base there will soon close (along with LGA S-80, and STL).

Reserve in LGA can suck, since you are required to cover all three airports, but there is no S-80 flying at JFK, so really just LGA and EWR.

Gotta agree. The only purpose the helmet serves is to put one's ID, wallet, money, and mobile phone. By the grave of the sky gods no helmets have been required in parts of the planet I've been employed

That statement is wrong. UAL didn't raise the bar for pay. With UAL get 8.5% in January and Delta getting 3% Delta will still be higher. UAL should have signed a deal that exceeded Delta's pay from day one. They didn't pattern bargin in a manner that gave Delta the ability to spring board off of in two years.

There are south pilots who do it too. Which frankly I don't understand, if Delta asks you to wear the hate why be so insubordinate? I mean all one is saying is I'll wear some of my uniform but dammit I'm too cool for all of it.

I guess some guys think they look like this as they get out of their plane without a hat:

but really, you're wearing a short sleeved shirt with a tie with dangley stuff hanging off it plus a pair of wings. Or at CAL some chose to have theirs sewn on...? But it really reminds me of the picture below and instead of looking like Maverick without a hat you look more like Jim Carrey on the right:

So let me be clear, nobody looks cool in this setup to begin with. The hat actually makes an ugly uniform idea look right.

^^^ Typical MD-88 Delta pilot with the hat on.

So just remember, find the hat, love the hat, wear the hat. You'll be happier.

Be professional, nobody is putting a gun to your head and saying wear the hat.

So look the part.
