Southwest fleet info
Straight from our company website dated July 15. Sorry I was a bit late....
Last Tuesday, Southwest reached a key milestone when we surpassed the 3,000-daily-flight mark. After beginning service 34 years ago with only three airplanes and three Texas cities, reaching 3,000 flights with a network stretching from coast to coast is truly an achievement to be proud of. With that many flights in the air, by the time our last flight lands out West, its almost time to start the new day on the East Coast.
Southwest accepted delivery of the first of two aircraft planned for July when N218WN was added to the fleet on Wednesday. The delivery was the 23rd of the year, and the third in the past week. For the remainder of the year, we have 11 additional -700 deliveries planned, with 34 scheduled for 2006. The latest delivery brings our fleet to 194 -300s, 25 -500s, and 216 -700s, which represents 44.6 percent, 5.7 percent, and 49.7 percent of our fleet total, respectively.
