Please Help Pilots Stuck In Brazil

Didn't the Supreme Court decide the same thing here a while ago? Although we take land from the poor and gave it to rich developers to make high priced condo's.

They might have, but down there they don't use the courts. Of course, if they did, it wouldn't make much difference with the corruption.

Age old struggle
Rich vs poor...
"I agree totally with you. My wife is Brazilian and she has been saying this exact stuff for the 6 years that I have known her. This is why she left that country. She says the judges are all corrupt as well. The president, Lula, is nothing more than a land squatting corrupt politician. Her father actually had a run-in with him when he was a union leader back in the 70's. She says that he eats rice, beans and fried eggs. (She says that is what poor people eat in Brazil). The poor people started to like him in the 80's when he started taking land from the landowners and giving to the poor. He would tell the poor people to just go and build a shack on the land and it is theirs. This is the type of corruption we are dealing with down there."
Way off topic but what the hell...Skygirl will probably comment...
In America it is the lazy vs the rich...If you can't earn enough money to buy a home and support yourself you ain't trying...and why should you? People like Pelosi, Dean, Jackson will tell you it is not your fault, it's the rich mans fault!
Don't fool yourself into thinking the leftist revolution ain't comin' here...look at our new Americans...IMHO we will see land redistribution like in Venezuala before we all die!! My rent homes will squated in and taken by the government!!! I hope I'm wrong...

[QUOTE=Robert_2006;82649]B757200ER, I agree with you, international laws must be followed, if Brazil signed these rules, they must to follow them. What I questioned on my last post is the unintelligent words posted by JETBLASTER. When you don't agree with something, you must show valid arguments, not offenses or silly adjectives.
**** Moron. I am so sick of politically correct pu$$1es. Americans are sick of apologizing for trying to help the world. If you don't like it here....gtf out. My god, maybe I'll leave too. I can't believe this country was founded by a bunch of brave people who told the mightiest country in the world to **** off. 250 years later, we have a country full of candy asses....aaahhh. Just a thought. Peace, the old fashioned way.

Sorry for the late post. I have been away from a computer for some time.
Someone please find the link to the video news coverage of yesterdays historic event and post it as there was quite a bit of news media present.
On Saturday, December 9, 2006 I was honored to be invited by ExcelAire President Bob Sherry to join 200 family, friends and colleagues of Joe Lepore and Jan Paladino to meet Joe and Jan's aircraft upon arrival from Brazil in Islip New York.
It was a very emotional time and great celebration seeing these two heroes come back home! I was very honored to meet both Joe and Jan for the first time and was able to talk with them for quite a few minutes. I did my best to relay to the both of them the huge outpouring of support and assistance from their peers on this and other aviation forums. I told them we were all so proud of them and extremely happy for their safe return.
I have so much more to say on yesterdays event but unfortunately it will have to wait a day or so until I have time to gather my thoughts. Yesterday was a very emotional day and being away from home on a computer from kinko's I can't do this justice with only a few paragraphs.
To everyone on this forum who took the time to write your elected leaders and who kept Joe and Jan in you prayers and thoughts THANK YOU!
Fraternally,

Just some words:
1) To these who are asking if I'm a pilot: NO, I'm a company owner, and I entered in this forum just to tell my opinion about this case. Some posts here are questioning me cause I said If I were piloting a plane, and the air controller instruction was not the same of the flight plan, I would ask many times before do it.
If it's normal you don't ask twice even if you aren't sure, so all aviation rules are WRONG, including US rules. To pilot a plane is not a child's play, is a dangerous and deadly thing, even with all available technologies. So, no precaution can be considered superfluous.
2) Some of you lost time posting political opinions like Recalcitrant and SideshowBob. Instead of this, you should try to convince your governor to do something.

The sad thing is that if both aircraft had working transponders all of this would have been avoided. Who knows, maybe the Gol jet had their transponder turned off. Having flown down there for years, I have seen many South American pilots flying around without transponders when they are in a non-radar environment.

Thanks by your explanation, Packer Backer. Maybe, this catastrophe can help Aviation to improve its rules and avoid all terrible consequences to who die and to who live from a plane accident.
