US Airways Calls
#451
I know how you feel. It took me over 5 years to get a call to move on from the regionals after I had the infamous 1000pic t. I know there are junior captains who just upgraded getting calls. My personal experience was that the majority have been captains for years. I know it is frustrating, I'm trying to bring to light that the majority of pilots getting class dates in the last year aren't junior captains. Hang in there and good luck

I had over 4000 PIC T. I was hired. Everyone in my class was at the regionals for over 8 years. They all had well over 3000 pic turbine as well. They mentioned in class that US Air wants to see you in training within the last 5 years to ensure you can be trained. They want to see that the old dog can be taught new tricks. It isn't a requirement.. It is another box that gets checked in the sorting pile. It's like having an internal rec. I know a bunch of people with one. I also know a bunch of people without 1. I talked with cp. 3000 applied, 800 meet the preferred mins. Patience is a virtue...

I'm a military pilot, applied in Mid-October, haven't received a call, nor have I seen the 'View the directions' on my application.
My availability isn't until end of January, so I have some time yet, and I'm flying right up until my day of retirement.

I had view the directions appear about the same time as everybody else. I'm hoping for a call soon... 4200 total, 3500 TPIC, all military time, 1 internal rec. The clock is ticking on me though. I finished my last training program about 4 years and 8 months ago, so as far as Airways goes, this is probably my only shot.

Zip-zilch-nada...Not even a 'view directions' that everyone is referring too.
Applied in August too, (10th to be precise.)
2600TT, 1100PIC (all multi-engine heavy), ATP, Re-base/AC updgrade done in Aug of this year, Glass-FMS-EFIS, International experience, TS clearence, etc. you name it. I'm ready to go!!!
And....crickets...

That's my biggest fear. That the economy and age 65 created a 4-6 year period of stagnation where everyone at the regionals maintained status quo. Captains amassed large quantities of PIC time, FO's large quantities of SIC time. Now that things are moving, FO's who just upgraded are getting called for interviews due to low PIC time or no PIC time.
And those of us fortunate enough to be in the left seat when everything went downhill are going to be deemed "over qualified/too set in ways/etc". I hope that's not the case.....I really, really, really want to move on.
