Integrating US Airways and American Airlines
I guess this answers the question of the week. Now what does it mean for those people waiting to hear back after interviewing?
We are so excited you are interested in joining the new American Airlines!
We’ve made great progress toward integrating US Airways and American Airlines, but for now, each legacy airline will maintain individual flight operations. Even so, we will be combining our recruiting efforts. That means, by applying to the pilot position, you may be selected to fly aircraft for either American Airlines or US Airways, although the hiring process and criteria is the same for each airline. The hiring assignment will be made by the needs of the operation, the Pilot Recruitment team and is non-negotiable. However, once we complete our integration (including a combined labor agreement), and achieve a Single Operating Certificate from the FAA, all pilots will be flying for American Airlines.
If you are interested in joining our team, you do not need to take any further action. If, however, you would like to withdraw your application, you can do so by visiting https://aa.pilotcredentials.com. Go to the Profile Summary page and select the Draft Mode button – your profile will then be invisible.
Thank you,
Pilot Recruitment

What about these people who've post on here in the last week or so who've interviewed at the end of May/early June and haven't heard one way or the other yet? Does this mean they weren't selected or are they still potential hires based on the interview they've already completed?

I agree.. for the interview. I think the hiring department has done a great job of selecting those to be hired. Every third lister I have come across has been a great guy/gal.
