Glad to hear you're back in the saddle, Huey. Good luck with your MV!

Unless the policy has changed AA policy prohibits drinking while traveling on company business. Travel to and from training (used to) count.

I'd find the policy, in writing, before drinking while traveling on a company pass.

We discussed this in Indoc. training. As long as you aren't wearing your company lanyard, and are completely out of uniform, it's alright. Things are pretty relaxed.

In so many areas, it seems like there the AA way and the Airways way. And in most of those areas, I hope the Airways way prevails.

Also, I'll see y'all on Monday.

Yeah, this was a topic that came up in my indoc class as well. I guess the distinction is that we're not deadheading or jumpseating, just taking advantage of the fact that the company allows us positive space travel in what would normally be an employee initiated non-rev situation.

Of course I also looked through the FOM and FM, and came to the same conclusion. This includes the American Drug and Alcohol policy introduced to Airways in FM 4.4.

I've personally never had a drink in First Class (as much as I love the idea of it!), but the ground instructors seemed sure that it was fine, and I couldn't find any verbiage to refute it. That said, if someone here knows of some verbiage that goes contrary to this, please speak up! It'd be nice to know before my next training event.

Nobody is monitoring you. Relax. And have a drink.

I drink on my commutes to home. I do a sa3p and lose the uniform if seats avail. And trust me the flight attendants if you treat them in a way will take care of you.
