Same thing this year. Reviewed your resume, then handed back. You were logged in a computer as having visited prior to getting to talk to anyone. FWIW, I was told that 400 hrs in the last year is absolutely incorrect. That it is 100% rumor. That doesn't mean though that the person who told me actually knows but he was part of the US recruiting group.

We were also told by US that if your status says under review, you're still good. Their computer may have determined that you meet their minimum qualifications and have been placed in a sort of basket that the computer then selects from at random for interviews. This is supposedly to give everyone who's qualified a fair chance at getting an interview. Then when asked about low time/experienced people getting picked above higher qualified people, we were told they want all kinds and if they only wanted 8,000-10,000 hr guys, they would've set the minimums higher.

The last class had a wide variety of backgrounds. Mostly 121 captains, but a couple 135 corporate types and several military guys were in the class. I don't recall anyone having straight up 121 FO time but I could be wrong. Some guys had many years of PIC experience while a few had only been in the left seat for a few years. All of the mil guys were IPs, except one who I think was also a 121 guy flying for the Guard.

The computer does rank people and pull them in a somewhat random sequence, but I've been told that the hiring folks review all the pulled apps and can give the thumbs down upon further review of a applicant's resume. I would imagine this is where certain quality of experience factors come into play.

Bottom line, keep applying. You never know when your name is next to be called. It came out of the blue for me...three windows of nothing and then an interview...

Good luck.

I thought AA was pulling down to 1 class a month to catch up on the training backlog.

Guy said he heard that rumor at the Flt Academy for April and
May. APA membership committee chairman said two classes scheduled for April with no comment made about May. So the April portion of the rumor is apparently false with May unknown.
