What is the Long Call/Short Call policy? Commuter policy?

Long call is 10 hours (was 9, but now 10 due to FAR 117) to show time. It's 11 to departure for Domestic and 11:30 to departure for International.

Short call simply states that you must be within 90 minutes driving time from the airport (as in they Mapquest your location and it has to be within 90 minutes of the airport).

According to the MOU, we now have a commuter policy. Whether or not it's being implemented is a different story.

So having realized my app was dormant on a previous window, I reapplied last night. Any idea how long the wait will be for current window calls? Sounds like current calls are from last years window.

Calls don't go out for a specific application window, until that window closes. It can't be stressed enough, to APPLY TO EVERY WINDOW. Part of the selection process (scoring) takes into account how many times you have applied before.

I applied August 2013 and I have only been able to upload a new resume, not reapply. Am I doing something wrong?
Isn't the current window continuously open? Any way to reapply?

I also applied for the first time in August. In Oct I received an email that I needed to reapply (new window?). I reapplied, which meant pretty much re-entering all of the pilot specific data and resume, cover letter, LOR. I can't remember if I had to re-enter job generic HR data.

Interviewed in November.

Look at the position number from your August application and then compare that to the current opening on the US Airways job site. They are probably different, and you need to reapply to that new job announcement. I have a feeling the current window will close soon and they'll start going through those apps in the near future, so get yours in!

Thanks Huey,
You were right, you cannot update your resume on old job postings. Only current job posting.

Hope this helps anyone else trying to update resume.

How many short calls are required per bid?

I don't know if there's a set number or not. Since I've been on the line, it has been split 50/50 for Long and Short calls. They've both been equal. This has been for PHL A319 F/O only. I can't speak for other seats, fleets or bases.
