Does anyone know if they are relaxed on the 400hrs/year if the applicant is the Safety Officer of the department?

The 400 hr/year requirement has been waived for management pilots. If safety officer is considered management by US Airways, I would think you'd be okay. I got hired last week- I'm an APD at my airline, but I did have the 400 hr/year requirement met, just to be safe. Seeing a lot of low time pilots taking managerial roles to enhance their resume- unfortunately they're stuck in an office and not earning flight time. Of course if we all knew the time/place to do anything career-wise, we'd have had jobs so much longer ago . . .

Hi, can anyone shed some light as to interpreting this "status"? Am I correct in interpreting this as I am no longer considered in this window? If so when I go to the careers site and select the First Officer position it wants me to re-enter all my information again, is that the correct way to go about this if I need to re-apply? Thanks.

Yes, you need to reapply to every new window they open. Good Luck!

Interesting, I just logged on and noticed the same thing. They must be purging that window and moving onto the next one. Is this 400 hour requirement within the last year a rumor or is has it been confirmed? If so, they are basically saying no to corporate and charter pilots (unless they are overworked). They must be calling people from the May 2013 window now. Mad Dog is right, all we can do is apply to every window and hope for the best!

If you can put "snowplow driver" under your qualifications you might get an interview call immediately.

Anyone have any solid info on how much longer Airways will be doing its own interviewing? I have friends asking if they should bother applying here or just focus on getting an AA interview. Personally I tell them apply at both because you don't know what will result in a call, but that may be moot if Airways closes up shop as far as interviews.

6-12 months was what I was told during my interview last month.

Tell them not to apply

Honestly I'd rather spend the 30 minutes to an hour required to apply as long as their window is open. Why take the chance? Congrats by the way!
