LCA used to mean something and it still does. Southwest wouldn't even look at you unless you were a check airman. Guys at 9E were becoming check airman just to mark that box on the app. Since when did mainline really grill anyone on approach plates anyways? LCA means more than just technical knowledge. If you are constantly teaching you are constantly learning. I can't tell you how many check airman I talk to at 9E who have said the same thing since the integration of 3 pilot groups. I don't disagree about the personality thing, but to say LCA doesn't matter is silly to me.

Quick question.....so I was filling out the app and screwed up and hit tab instead of enter on one of the questions, the one where you list all the planes you have flown, I think I managed to put 2 in before I screwed it up, and it went to the next question (I know you can't go back but hope springs eternal and I tried at which point it said you can't resubmit the question again).
At any rate I continued on and finished the app. My question is should I go through (can I?) and resubmit the whole thing again? Or am I just SOL?
Cut me some slack I took a red-eye home this am for my one day off, trying to get this done. I don't mind resubmitting the app if that will fix it, perhaps I'll try more sleep before I do that again.

US Airways does have a lot of military pilots and has recently hired many more. The airline has also hired many LCAs and I believe they also give strong consideration to CFI/II/MEI qualifications too.
I sometimes get the sense that US Airways is rebuilding the classical Piedmont Airlines mold.

Oh and sbout SWA, that will be changing real soon. While they can enjoy that top of the cream de crop right now, 5 years later when all the legacies are hiring due to retirements and movement, and SWA has 20-25 year upgrades, they will not only drop the type rating requirement but also the TPIC requirement and start taking RJ FOs. Count on it.
Further, Southwest's pay scale alone will attract highly qualified candidates, not to mention the general sense that most people like it there etc etc. The FO pay scale beats being a captain at your Virgin, and Spirit, and it beats the entire FO scale at Airways for any airframe. So 20 year FO? Still making more than A LOT of other pilots....
Just saying.
