Can I add, Mr. Canoepilot, that you're extremely handsome as well?

When is first year pay going to be on par with DL & UA? I don't think I can take the major first year hit at this stage. Having said that, if it's all about number of application windows you've applied to then I wouldn't be top of the list for quite some time, so maybe I should send one off? It's not like DL & UA are beating my door down...

Anyone know what application number they are pulling from? 172256?

No, you should hold out on general principal. Let us know when Delta calls!

Says the person who knows nothing about the situation of the other guy.
Can you take a 50+% pay cut tomorrow?
Turns out that majors haven't been hiring for a while and people have had to continue with their lives despite that.
So yes $40/hr is VERY hard for some people, and not just on principal.

So, has anyone received a call this week? My anecdotal observation is that interview calls go out on Thursdays and Fridays.

If selected I will be the winner of a 82% pay cut for the first year!

Unfortunately for some this is not an option but we having been planning for this day to come eventually and should be able to get by without a drastic lifestyle change...

What is the payrate for E190 Captain?
I cannot imagine it would be lower than second year narrowbody/widebody FO pay?

757/767 FO pay passes 190 CA at year 5.

A330 is higher than E190 CA at year 3.

It isn't. But by year 7 pay, small widebody FO (Group 3) makes more than a year 7 E190 CA (Group 1). A 737 or Airbus FO will make slightly less than a Group 1 CA until year 11, when the pay becomes identical.

So a senior FO flying anything Group 2 and above will never have a money incentive to upgrade to Group 1 Captain.

(fyi, 80ktsClamp's numbers are for 2013)
