pardon my ignorance,
how can the PHX side hire at all with people on furlough? are they bypassing?

The poster in question was referring to the INTERVIEW LOCATION only. ALL hiring is for EAST domicile positions only. There are still 40-odd West pilots on furlough, though all have been offered recall to the East.

While I can't entirely discount the previous poster's statistics on hiring of PHX vs. CLT interviewees without a source, I am skeptical of it. I know plenty of people who have been hired from PHX interviews, and plenty who have been turned down from CLT ones. I don't think it makes much difference. I interviewed in CLT because I live here, but they will generally offer an applicant a choice based on which is nearer or more convenient to their home.

I don't understand that. What do you mean by slots? Interview slots of pilot positions?

What are the % of those that interview and get hired overall? Are we talking delta style 50/50?

I know for a fact that there is an Oct. 1st class. From what I've heard they are going to be running classes monthly for awhile after that.

I'm in the Oct 15 class. At the interview HR mentioned the strong possibility of 2 classes per month through Jan 2013. With more probably to come.

I see you put Jan 2013, that's only a few months worth, or did you mean Jan 2014? A solid year of hiring sure would be nice

My post was in quotes to someone asking about VX, so my response was to the guy asking about VX. Not US Airways. Sorry about the confusion. I have no knowledge of US Air class dates.
