Hey All,
I have a class date coming up in April and was wondering, from those who recently attended the class, what the schedule is? They are flying me to Phoenix but they havent said for how long. I was asked by some USA captain friends why indoc is so long.
My current understsanding is we show up in Phoenix and do indoc for 2 weeks. In that time we figure out the seniority and assignments then we wait until the actually flight training class for anywhere from 2 to 10 days. Is this correct or was I told wrong? Two weeks of indoc seems really long- not complaining at all just kind of wanted to know the plan.
BTW does anyone also know what the flight training course lengths are for the 190 and the 320? Thanks!

Indoc is 2 weeks; Mon-Fri. M-Th is 8am-4pm; Friday is 6am-2pm.
Indoc is the only training program that is not AQP, that's basically why it is so long in duration.
AB training is 1 day longer (I believe) than E9. AB has an extra day for LA/SA operations.

Qual (Aircraft Systems ground school) is 12 days in length. It is generally held in CLT. Three shifts run throughout the course, so 0600-1400, 1000-1800, or 1400-2200 are all possible class times. There will be some breaks, of course, and you'll be able to get yourself home during those as well if you wish. The last day of Qual will be your SPV (Systems and Procedures Validation, AQP's version of an oral). This will only be two hours in length and could be any time of day depending on check airman scheduling.
If you're on the Airbus, you'll do a one-day International Procedures ground school after Qual but before the sim. It covers oceanic flying, HF radio, overwater operations, etc. The 737 and 190 don't do flying that requires this training, so if you're on those fleets, one less day in the schoolhouse for you.
The simulator is ten sessions. Four sims, a maneuvers validation, three sims, a LOFT, and an LOE. Once done there, you're off to 25 hours of OE, which can be assigned in any domicile, regardless of where you are based.
You will receive the schedule for each phase of training well in advance, generally in the early part of the preceding phase of your training. (IE, you'll get a Qual schedule during Indoc, a Sim schedule during Qual, and an OE schedule while in the Sim.)

As the other responders stated, Indoc is 10 days in PHX. You will be able to book yourself positive space to and from home before and after class and during breaks.
