There is NO way around the third party system. All applications are computer selected, based on criteria chosen by HR. The HR folks select the parameters, and the computer does the fishing. After the applicants are computer selected (lottery style) the applications go before a review board comprised of HR personnel and pilots. If an applicant is pulled by the computer, and the board gives the thumbs up, the applicant is then called for an interview.

As I understand it, all of the previous applications were purged and dumped, regardless of prior status, tabs shown, or messages made available to applicants. In short, even if you have 3-4 applications still "under review", it's only the application from the current window that will net you an interview. I'd consider this good information from my most connected resources. Who you know has no bearing on this process, what so ever. Good luck, and here's hoping for opportunity for us all in 2013!

Thanks for sharing this information. It's a little fascinating and a little frustrating how US Air does their hiring, probably more frustrating for the actual US Air folks.

I can understand the purging of the applications, shows a renewed interest in working there. I remember there being a post about a guy getting called for an interview who had said he forgot he applied. And, since my latest application was my strongest, glad they're more likely to focus on that one.

As far as attending the WIA conference, if you can afford it, GO! I've talked to more than a few people who say if you go to only one conference/job fair, the WIA is the one to go to. I've spent about $2K going to the last two job fairs I attended, and am eagerly waiting for the WIA conference. Plus, my wife is getting tired of me constantly talking to her about airline jobs!

Yesterday's new hire class should have received their awards by now. Anyone out there know what platforms and bases they got?

Don't know this as yet. However, based upon the outcome of our most recent system bid, you can expect the next several new hire classes to be heavy on PHL E190 positions. There might even be some B737s, and the A320 had the fewest openings left over. Plus our Airbus sims are running full steam training those already on property (newer guys off lock from the 190, 737 displacees, upgrades, etc.).

The training centers are over capacity right now. Can anyone say E periods?? (2200-0200)

Yes! I can! My first 3 sims are E Periods. Thankfully, it gets progressively more human and the sim training goes on. My ground school is also the 1400-2200 slot.

I noticed with my august application i can no longer withdraw from consideration, it just say under review with a link on it that says application invitation 2/15/13. I bet this confirms they have purged all of those apps.
I still wonder however if that application invitaion will trigger something in the future, im still hopeful

This question on the app:

I hereby certify that I have not had an aircraft accident or aviation violation, which was the subject of investigation by Federal, State or Local Government Agency.

Ok, so that's a, "Yes, I have NOT had any accidents, etc." But that's immediately followed by, "Please list accidents you have had that resulted in injury or death of passengers, including details. Give date, place, type of aircraft."

Am I missing something? And there's no "doesn't apply" checkbox, just a window. Did they word it backward, and am I certifying that I HAVE had an accident, in their eyes?? Anyone else puzzled at that point?

Sounds like you get those boxes even if you say "no", I said yes, like you did and haven't gotten the rejection yet. Others said no and still had the explains boxes.

Cool, thanks. Then I ran out of time on the "please list ALL aircraft types flown and hours" question. In contrast to Gulfstream Girl, that's gonna take a bit of work for me to answer!
