That's reality. My LCC didn't provide a hotel in training because we were considered based there from day 1, and there is no hotel provided in base. However, sims were in Miami, and that meant per diem, hotel, and a rental car.

Everything you just listed from those other airlines is BS also. Yes, there's plenty BS for the FNG's. We thank you all in advance.

Regionals pay hotel because otherwise people wouldn't show up. My regional was like that. For a long time, they didn't provide it and people had to pony up $. Then the year I was hired, they were having trouble finding pilots so they announced certain bonus incentives, one being free hotel during training. This wasn't done out of good will, it was done because they had to. The second an airline can't get pilots through its doors when it really needs them, they will change something to attract them.

No, I don't. I worked hard to land my recent job. Countless hours were spent researching who was hiring, filling out job applications, and sending out resumes. It was a daily ritural, day in day out. I applied to everyone that was hiring and/or accepting applications. I applied to airlines I didn't even know existed, like like Aloha Air Cargo. I applied to foreign airlines, and those applications are long and take time to fill out. If you think I just had my current opportunity handed easily on a silver platter, you are mistaken. It was earned the good ol' fashioned way, the fight for getting a job, the ritual of wanting to leave a deadend regional.
