This is straight from the email. Not sure what aggressively means in this context, especially seeing as how it seems to be an outsourced recruitment company that pulls applications.
"No hiring in December. Expects to recruit "aggressively" for classes every month in 2013."

Initially, I was pretty skeptical about hiring after the AA merger was announced. However, after talking to an AirTran captain that was going back to AA, I'm fairly certain that the hiring is going to continue, regardless. According to him, the AA side of things is woefully understaffed, with virtually all recalls having been offered. I was told to expect "off the street" hiring at AA this summer. Also, from what I hear, the USAirways training center is pretty much at maximum capacity. It's being made worse with one of the 757 simulators being pulled for overhaul/maintenance. Hopefully things pick up soon.
As for the application process- I've heard it both ways, from credible sources. I've heard that the old apps have been closed out, and interviews have already been selected from that pool. The new app. is going to be used for the upcoming pool of interviews. I've also heard that the computer randomly picks from ALL of the apps within the system. Not sure of the actual scenario, just want an interview : )

I applied in Aug 2012. Got a call in December for a January interview. I was told to expect a call in two weeks. After four weeks went by with no communication from them I assumed I didnt get hired. Week five (Feb 19th) I got a call and a class start date for end of March. He said no call means your still in the selection process.
I am looking forward to working with USAir/American. I think the potential is awesome and the timing even better.

As in all of the applicants from the old window have been picked and are swimming in a pool to be called. When they are done, they interviews start from a new pool of applicants to be pulled from this window. In essense, they select candidates, put them on a list, and then call for interviews. When that list is exhausted, they open up another window, compile another list, and then start calling from this. This is what I've been told, but it doesn't explain how people are getting called from year old apps. Maybe they're mistaken on which app got them the call?

Then why won't the old apps go away? All three say "under review" and I got a call for the August one saying I'm still under consideration. The Aug one also has the link for the new app invite, which makes my 3rd app. Frustrating.

I am just hoping that altough a new window opened and everyone can reapply that they look for those application invites and give us a call that have been waiting for a chance since august. Becuase lets face it, now that the merger is going through and pay rates will go up, everyone is going to apply, even those that never would have applied to usair.
