They already had a planned shutdown point. Keeping it open is something they will do willingly because the C Series is not in production yet

With this TA they're going to shave off some more of the reserve coverage and on top of that get even more hours out of the those remaining. "More with Less" should be the motto of this TA. You can keep your 3% raises in '14 & '15 since I'll be too beaten down to enjoy any of it.
I'll betcha reserve will go more senior in the lean months...

Of course it's about money you fool! This whole discussion is about $$$, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot did you think we were talking about, curing cancer?

I have already stated I no longer care about section 1 because my "union" won't enforce it, so that leaves with section 3 and 23 covering compensation and scheduling.

Since you've flipped more times than a DC politician, Bill what the heck is so great about passing this thing now, early with concessions at every turn?

Why? There should be more lines, and the Reserves will get one more day off. Each Reserve will work a little more.

Delta could liquidate Pinnacle and Comair, and give our planes to the other DCI carriers to get rid of the 50 seaters. So a no vote would almost certainly guarantee the end of 9E and Comair.

That wouldn't satisfy Bombardier. They want a piece of the pie too. They have no use for used 50 seat jets unless Delta is buying shiny new CRJ900s.

Why are you so convinced the union won't enforce section 1? That is just anti ALPA bias I guess?

The pay is a home freaking run..

Now scheduling.... let's talk about that...
I wish there would have been more than the 4:30, but I just finished a 10+ hour "3" day that will go to 13:30 under this, so that is a win. There are quite a few trips in NY that will see this kind of improvement.

T, yes it is anti ALPA bias. I was really concerned about this section until a P2P rep whose JS I was riding pointed out that we spend a lot of time and negotiating capitol on it and the company always finds away around it, so I dropped it as a concern.

As to the pay rates being a home run, I think you are over exaggerating there. The rates don't meet the basic requirement set out in the survey. No, I haven't seen it but sailing said so and so did TT at LEC 20, so I'll have to trust them.

I've said if they had sweetened the pot a little with a slightly higher signing bonus or given in on the ADG like SWA, I would be able to deal with the rest. I just think we got played on the needs of the company. Will I support it if passed, yes but while I can still get folks to think about alternatives, I will.

I get that you are a yes, please try to rationally express your point and don't get all T2 on the rest of us when we disagree. There is some good in this TA, I just don't think there are any "Homeruns"

Even the Alpa guys are not saying the pay is a home run.
