It's a shell game, you're partially paying for your own raise. Company comes out much further ahead than you, while at the same time plusing up the number of large RJ's. In three years, DAL mgmt's mistakes will have been purged by your hard work, not theirs. What will you use to negotiate then? You may like the current TA, but you've got the leverage to make much more significant changes. Never mind the fact that a no vote slams the door forever on 900's (huge!).

For the record, I have no dog in this fight, just a guy watching from the sidelines hoping to join your team.
2billion total (that number is a "no voter" number, MEC is quoting closer to the 1billio mark.)

That is a one time amount for them, the $400 mil is an recurring number for the pilots.

The door is most definitely NOT closed on 76 seat jets if this TA fails.

The leverage only extends as far as the company is willing to say yes absent a "release from mediation"... Know how many of the cases under NMB mediation have been given that green light in recent history?

Other that that, our leverage is limited.

If you want to "join the team" sooner rather than later you better hope this deal gets ratified.

Never mind what gains FDX got in the last 2 rounds, tell me how many of these TA's it would take to catch up to FDX pay.

So, what exactly is the leverage? A hunch? The Airtran guys thought they had leverage too. How did that work out?

For the record Shiz (yes voter) the $2B number came from an MEC member, just wasn't on the "approved" talking points. Perhaps his distribution list didn't have the words "Do not under any circumstances tell the voters/pilots the truth".

I'm not saying I'm arguing either way, like I said, no skin in the game. I'm just championing for the restoration of the profession across the board, the OP's post makes a great argument for the group being worth a lot more than is in the table.

The new reserve rules are enough for me to vote NO. I'm in the middle of the pack seniority wise for my category when it comes to the reserve pilots. So far this month with the new bucket system they've worked me 7 out of 8 days. Probably can expect to work 8 of the the next 10. With this TA they're going to shave off some more of the reserve coverage and on top of that get even more hours out of the those remaining. "More with Less" should be the motto of this TA. You can keep your 3% raises in '14 & '15 since I'll be too beaten down to enjoy any of it.

If this is your "smoking gun" then by all means use it.
