And of course, that means that everyone has to fill out that application again. Do they believe that their current "Apply again" application process is more efficient than creating a "Candidate Profile" option. ***. Another hour of wasted time entering the same information. Is anyone else out there tired of the US Airways "10 second Tom" application approach?

got this email from them today;
Dear Joe,
We appreciate your interest in the Pilot - First Officer EMB190 position for requisition 131311 in Philadelphia.
We received a considerable number of applications in response to this requisition and filled the position before having the opportunity to review your application. As a result, you were not selected for this position.
Thank you for applying and we encourage you to visit usairways.greatjob.net for future opportunities that may be of interest to you.
Kind regards,
Recruitment and Selection
My question is does this mean they really didn't get around to looking at my stuff? Should I apply again when the window opens?

You should see the generic e-mail they send to guys who interviewed and then were told "no thanks". It essentially said you were not chosen to fly a plane for us, but by all means we would be happy to interview you for another position. Seriously??? I haven't worked my butt off and gone to school to go drive a tug around the CLT ramp for USAir. I realize I was getting bad news at that moment and don't want to be too negative about it here on APC, but I really think HR should consider who the audience is that they are writing to. Is that too much to ask? Ok, rant over.
It must be their one size fits all HR email. A 25 year captain friend of mine got the same email after applying for a check airman position.
For everyone that is applying now, I'm sure it's maddening, but I think they just have who the need for now. My seat, CLT A320 capt, is overstaffed for now. That is something we have not seen for about a decade, so they may be dealing with sorting everything out.
Everything starts out in HRs hands around here, so if you are interested keep playing the game. Good luck.

Sorry to hear that alot of good pilots did not get a chance at an interview at US Airways.
Just hope that HR takes there heads out of the clouds and does not make everyone reapply and enter all the app again. Unfortunately, knowing this company and how out of the loop HR normally is, I will apologize now.
December is fast approaching there will be opportunties to get hired at a majors. I know its a long way away, but know its coming.

not sure what USAir is looking for to be honest... and still waiting on this pilot shortage.

We're owned by airways here at piedmont and airways took a handful of our guys but it seems they hired the guys in their low to mid 30's. Didn't touch any of our pilot group over 40 years of age to my knowledge...I think they're looking for a specific candidate and since they are the only major that was hiring they could afford to be picky. Hopefully it changes in the next few years industry wide
