Default SWA Jumpseat Question...

I searched for an answer to this, but couldn't find anything. I was planning on jumpseating a flight through LAS to SLC. It's the same flight number/aircraft from my origin to SLC. If I get cleared the jumpseat at my origin, can I still get bumped off in LAS by another higher priority jumpseater? In other words, does SWA clear you on the jumpseat all the way to your destination or do you have to be re-cleared at your stopover?

I can't speak for SWA, me being a DAL guy, but I would find it very strange that if a SWA pilot shows up looking for that J/S at your intermediate stop, you get priority over him! I know a SWA guy wouldn't get priority over a DAL pilot at DAL, at an intermediate stop.

You will have priority over anyone except a SWA pilot or employee that is authorized to sit on the J/S. Most of our planes have 2 J/S's.

You get cleared all the way through.

Thanks for the responses. I got a little bit of conflicting info, though. So does being "cleared all the way through" mean just SWA/FAA guys can bump me out? Or am I safe from being bumped by anybody? Common sense would say that the seat would go to an SWA/FAA jumpseater, but I'd like to know for sure.

I know from having this battle with them several times, you are NEVER safe from the FAA!

They "Own" all jumpseats, on every airline.

Their attitude is, they are doing us a Favor when they allow us to ride in THEIR jumpseats!

You are listed in the jumpseat all the way to your destination, meaning you can't be kicked out by another offline j/s'er. However, like stated above, you CAN be kicked out by a SWA jumpseater or the FAA.

BUT...if you bring enough Kittens, you should be able to talk your way out of having a SWA pilot bump you at your intermediate stop.

Just hand them over.

He'll be busy in the parking lot, trying to run them over, while you get to keep the jumpseat!
