Crashpads in LAS
I just got hired at Allegiant Airlines and I need to know if anyone knows of any crashpads in LAS that I could rent while in training.
Only interested in actual information about LAS crashpads. Please no lectures on how I am making the best decision of my life or the worst decision of my life. Just need some info.
Thanks

There is a SWA Captain that operates a crashpad (converted townhouse) across the street from the airport (off Maryland Pkwy), at least he was two years ago when I was based there. Not the best part of town, but very close and convienent to the airport. City bus runs 24 hours a day and stops right outside the complex. Check out this link:

I interviewed in March for an April class date originally. They didn't hire me to the April class but apparently I was in a pool and was just called for an October class. I got the "thanks but no thanks" call in March with no mention of a pool. My contact at Allegiant told me that he had heard they needed pilots quickly and didn't have time to interview so they were calling people who were "close to making it, but not quite" last time to see if they are still interested. Lucky for me I was one of the "close ones". Now looking forward to starting class and being based 20 minutes from my house and being home every night. Sure beats a 2 hr drive, 4 hr flight to get to base!

I am hoping for the BLI base.
They didn't mention what base they were hiring into, but the recruiter that I talked to on the phone yesterday said they were having a couple of upgrade classes at the same time as the new hire class. That coupled with GRR closing tells me there will be a lot of movement in the FO ranks there and I would suppose it will all depend on where everyone wants to go. I know in the April class they went all over the system. So who knows what base the new hires will get this time.

Getting back to the original topic--unless its changed in the last two years, most of the SWA commuters go to one of the many cheap motels nearby the airport. Most are anywhere from $30-50 per nite and provide free shuttle service. My favorite when I commuted there was the Super 8. Very reliable shuttle, next door to a decent place to eat and a 10 minute walk to the strip if you were interested in that. It was around $40 about a year and a half ago.
