All 3 of the above posters speak to the same thing the science says - it's the duty time that's fatiguing. Limit the duty time, and you limit the ridiculous sits. There is no scientific evidence showing flight time is fatiguing - primarily b/c it's apparently never been studied (which surprises me - no study on the effect of flying on fatigue, really?).

CAPA and ALPA (represents 95% of US professional airline pilots) were part of the ARC that developed the rules, 'NavyAACAL'. Every carrier's union leadership already knows what fatigues their group most. Would a survey really yield any new information on this issue that the scheduling committees of the various carriers don't already know?

They will probably wait until the holidays are over. I hope they're not trying to sweep this under the rug because it sure seems like it.

So now they can read my mind. If this is so true then why does it seemed they missed the mark! Yes a survey would give data directly from the group vice what the "Union" ASSumes to know.
