With the pool empty and still about 140 needed for 2011, I'm hearing (and hoping) that the calls will not be anywhere as long for interviews; as they were when the pool was stocked. First man called, let us all know! :-)

For those of you who have class dates, bringing your own car is really not necessary. JetBlue has regular shuttle service from the hotel to JB University. Also the hotel will provide shuttle service within a couple of miles. Training at JetBlue was great!

Gang - as a hopeful applicant I was wondering if a B6 driver / new hire could answer this for me. If I am already typed on the A320 and have flown it for a while, would I still go through the normal training profile if lucky enough to land an A320 slot?

Also, I am 37 now, where has that age landed in terms of average of recent seniority assignments?

Thanks for the info! :-)

Probably have a decent shot of getting the bus if it's available in the class and yes you would go through all 6 weeks of training.

Thanks!

Anyone know where 37 lands in recent classes in terms of percentages of seniority?

I'm still learning, so what does age have to do w/ seniority? Is that a "respect your elders" kind of thing?

Most airlines use date of hire for seniority. In a new class where 10 or so folks all have the same DOH they sort that class oldest to youngest with the oldest having the highest seniority of that class.

This comes into play for first assignment. If you are the oldest in your class and JB needs 5 A320 JFK and 5 E190 FLL you could pick what you wanted out of the two and would get it. The youngest gets what is left over.

Ok, good to know. I guess I've always been use to it being performance based. I thought they would offer you a specific airframe once a job offer was given, based on experience or what was available when you got the offer. Thx for the info.

Performance is out the window in the airlines. Seniority is EVERYTHING!
