I believe it was part of the NPRM (from google):
It would not have been part of the House Resolution and I don't know about the final rule.
• PL 211-*‐216:
PL 211-*‐216
– Section 217 requires the FAA to modify requirements of ATP certificate, as issued under part 61. Specifically, to be qualified to receive an ATP certificate, the pilot should have received flight training, academic training, or operatonal experience that will prepare a pilot, at a minimum, to:
• function effectvely in a multipilot [multicrew] environment;
• function effectvely in adverse weather conditions;
• function effectively during high altitude operations;
• adhere to the highest professional standards; and
• function effectively in an air carrier environment.
– Requires the Administrator to determine appropriate experience in difficult
operating conditions to be eligible for ATP certificate.
– Requires Type rating in aircral flown
– Requires all SICs in Part 121 service to acquire the new ATP
• The FOQ NPRM extends requirement to Part 91K and Part 135, and requires 1000 hrs experience in air carrier operations before serving as PIC
• If the FAA fails to issue new rule(s), a default provision in PL 211-*‐216 requires all SICs to possess an ATP (presumably the existing ATP)

A case could be made by these standards that under AQP since the training is the same that the SIC type may suffice. IMHO. I will ask my POI friend this week.

There is no "SIC type". A type is a type. SIC only is just a restriction on the type. Same as circling approach VMC only or whatever else. Just cause we don't respect it the same doesn't mean its that different. The difference in initial rides with and without the restriction is miniscule anyway.

Nah, i've been down that road.. I prefer to watch the mud being thrown from a distance. I just feel bad that there are going to be poolies on the other thread that might lose excitement before they get here. Regardless of what you think of the union the poolies should be allowed to be excited and discuss class dates, base, equipment, etc. without having to comb through tons union rhetoric.
As you replied in other thread - the union drive is an important conversation that should be had. I just think this thread is more appropriate!
Thats it! I'll stop being the thread police now.
Thanks.

The whole union/ non-union debate is one thing.
What's worse, is the issue of not having peer competitive compensation and benefits.
Many Pilots could live without unionization. Fair enough. But, why the lack of competitive comp and bennies????????

What's new at JEtBlue?
-Health care now worst in the industry
-Former OC pilots being terminated
-FA card drive for unionization going very well
-Wheels in motion for pilot representation
-COO hates pilots
That about covers it....
Seek employment elsewhere...You've been warned.
