ALPA isn't coming to us. You need to go to ALPA.

BlueTruthPilots

If you want a CBA then volunteer.

Educate yourself. Don't put the blame on someone.

You can "own" your PEA just like your health care plan...

or you can OWN the rest of your career and at the very least have a say.

You sent in a card. Good first step. Now walk the walk and help the pilots of jetBlue gain a future.

ALPA cannot silence anyone. As an educated individual you should be able to listen to the level headed majority.

Im curious as to what sort of message jetblue pilots expect?

Jetblue put out posters, fliers and email with lie after lie. They did so with a smile and color billboards.

ALPA simply put out facts. They weren't in your face, we weren't allowed to put up any fliers and we weren't granted access to the Jetblue email server like the BoB's were.

Take some time and give me an honest assessment of what you would like to see.
My assessment is this - how do you convince people that you deserve more when you get the standard feel guilty "I'm just happy to have a job" crowd? My feeling is its your career and if you don't take control of it this is the result. Low pay, poor benefits and retirement pay that is on par with a barista at Starbucks. I know people that decline the medical because its so bad. How does anyone support this and continue to say "nah this direct relationship is great?"

Objectively looking at these ideas what makes us so much different from any other airline or pilot group?

We fly the aircraft safely and efficiently. We make an effort to treat the customers well. We make an effort to treat each other well. Again, we are no different than any other carrier.

The only difference I can see is, for the 1193, that "different" somehow means willing to accept less.

The only difference between Jetblue pilots and other airline pilots is this pilot group gladly accepts less and is naive in doing so.

Jetblue has ernst convinced the health care changes are good for him/her. The money Jetblue is spending on advertising these new policies is clearly worth every penny.
what does the industry do to us that makes us feel we are worth less and second, why are we still willing to accept those terms? If we stood together and said no things would change but the company is smart. They offer pizza, the cp's befriend people to make it personal to make you feel selfish for wanting more, they offer more pizza, they give you free water bottles or lanyards. Free stuff seems to go a long way I guess. If management feels the pilot group is turning they say "hey lets give em pizza, that'll work!"

So what? That won't change under a CBA. You can apply to be a chief if you want.

Wouldn't (mathamatically) one of the chief pilots have to have the highest number of complaints no matter what? Regardless, who cares? CBA won't change it.

Holy crap! I hope the national media was notified. This is a Paris Hilton airhead argument.

I hope you're not involved in the next ALPA campaign. If you think these arguments are going to sway fence-sitters, you are sadly mistaken.

A CBA will not change the chief pilots and I don't think anyone is suggesting so. If you read the email sent out the suggestion is that our CP's are somehow out to support you. The BOS CP was asking pilots to make an announcement about a TV show while below 10,000 and the other CP has harassment charges filed against him through the people department.
The idea is Ford and Harrison as trying to make them "more like you."

Union or no union shouldnt affect the way CPs operate, unless the company wants them to treat pilots differently.

harassment charges? No surprise there and they do nothing about it.

Default Health Insurance

Does anyone know how much it costs to cover your family (wife and 1 child) with health insurance per month? We were interested in a PPO plan and heard it was very expensive, such as $800 a month.

And what does this have to do with the price of tea in China, much less the JB Pilots' need to have a CBA? You guys need to keep your eye on the ball.

The comments are simply in response to the latest email sent by JetBlue claiming the chief pilots are the best in the industry, there to help and pilot representatives. Simply not true.
