But now, I believe that for our own well being and protections, we are leaving ourself out on a limb without one. I'm not saying we need this to try and screw JB, or show them who's in charge, etc. We need it to protect our careers and future against what ever comes down the line. If we want this next drive to be successful, then we must pick and choose carefully who the reps are. We don't need the radicals and extremists pushing this thing. That's one of the reasons I was so turned off by it last year and through conversations with my fellow pilots that was their concern also. I don't want to hear we need a union so we can screw JB and how it's time to get back at the company for past doings, etc. I want to hear how to protect and enhance our careers/benefits for the future. The union can only be as strong as the pilots it represents. We need to set the standard for our expectations, not the union. Their job is to represent us and enforce our CBA. We need to be educated about the facts of what we have/don't have as well as the risks of not having these protections.
Very well said. I 100 percent agree with & support this. Too many people on this forum and at JetBlue let their passion lead them to almost mindless rhetoric on this last vote, it turned off a lot of pilots who where on the fence about it.

On the contrary. There will be another drive in the near future. How near, I'm not sure, but rest assured it is coming. It's going to be a different drive this year. I only know a few details about it but I don't want to get into it too much until it is underway.

We have a lot of former no-voters who have seen the light. Even some of the ALPA-haters are finally ready to ditch the "directed relationship". Personally, I don't see how anybody can believe anymore that our leadership has our best interest at heart.

I just hope we get a CBA before we have to start paying what will be ridiculous healthcare costs next year; before any M/A, before the company can whittle away our pay, rules, and benefits so low that we have to spend years fighting to get back to where we are today.

Above all, the legal, safety, and medical benefits are worth my 2%. Let's get this thing done!

It did, but a lot has changed since then.

Nope.. And we need your help. ALPA is the only union that has a chance here at JB and can get us on the way to a CBA

I remember the jbpa vote and that's been a few years. Guys were saying "oh the company will take care of us" and "this direct relationship is waaay better than a union, a cba will take too long." Could of had a cba by now and the company didn't follow through on the promises did they? I can't ever believe what a company says after all I have seen. Placing faith in any organization over protecting yourself is a bad idea. Be professional, be dedicated, but to leave a pilot group exposed like this to a phony PEA is just nonsense. The only hope is that 51 percent will finally see the light and not believe the years of baseless rhetoric on having a direct relationship.

Didn't ALPA state that they would not support a drive until they settled the TWA lawsuit, hence the reason Allegiant is voting for IBT?

I doubt that. One of our guys is working closely with ALPA. Supposedly the drive will be beginning very soon. I do think ALPA wanted to wrap up one or two other things before they got fully into our drive. Whatever the case, I'm pretty sure the drive is not too far off. The TWA thing could still have a long time to go.
