As far as I could gather it was looking like sept classes for whoever asked. Also the bid should be out before friday. The company was counting on a bunch of FO's punching out, due to out terrible retirement forecast, for recalls and legacy hiring but it never materialized.

The company planned for 150 expecting the majors to hire. We lost about a third of that due largely to lack of hiring elsewhere. SWA, FedEx, Corp and some who left the industry. Jetblue is well aware pilots plan on leaving for career employment. They don't seem to be bothered. Due to the lack of attrition there shouldn't be much, if any, hiring for the remainder of the year.

If history is any look into the future, a mass exodus has a very high probability. When other airlines were recalling and hiring in 2007 Jetblue lost hundreds from all seats and seniority. The music stopped in spring 08' when the economy tanked and other airlines shut thier doors.
My prediction is that the exodus will happen here again with thousands of positions opening up in the next 36-48 months. With over 30yrs left to fly I'd have a real hard time not going if DAL or FEDEX called tomorrow.

JetBlue is not bothered by turn over. There is a metric for what is considered acceptable turnover. (I'll try to find it) provided the attrition does not approach '07 levels the company is satisfied. Should it approach that 10-20% or more then it becomes financially irresponsible and only then will changes to the benefits package be made.
As it stands now the pay raise is cost neutral based on the significant increases in insurance. As the pay won't go up next year and insurance will JetBlue stands to benefit significantly at the pilots expense. Jetblue signed an agreement to drastically transfer the cost of insurance over a 4 year period to the employees. As it stands now Jetblue shoulders an industry standard amount but its scheduled to transfer 80% of the cost on the employee.

Who's being lied to? I am no genius, but just looking at bid divisors and the RSV grid over the past 6 months tells me that we are overstaffed (at least in the right seat). As someone on the lower end of the seniority list, I want to see hiring continue, but not if it means lower bid divisors and more RSV pilots sitting around.
