Musical chairs was never fun for me. Not really sure where your going with your post though. Everyone has financial responsibilities, kids, house, dogs, student loans, kids college to worry about, x-wives, pick your poison.... this list goes on and on. A union isn't going to kill this place, poor managerial decisions will though. This isn't a game of russian roulet, it's colective barganing.

12 years and still not industry standard in pay, benefits, retirement, disability.

12 years and the stock has gone down consistently every year.

Neither a union nor the pilot group is going to ruin this company. The management is well in control of that fate.

The industry is making moves on the chessboard and we are still playing checkers over here.

Here is YOUR DR at work no voters:

Quote:
HDHP Minimum Required Deductibles – The 2013 minimum annual deductible for self-only HDHP coverage increases to $1,250; for family HDHP coverage, $2,500.
HDHP Out-of-Pocket Maximum – The 2013 maximum limit on out-of-pocket expenses for self-only HDHP coverage is $6,250, and the limit for family HDHP coverage is $12,500.

We are a major airline in government statistics only.

True major airlines do not "provide" this type of insurance to their pilots.

Thank you 1193.

You will have to. ALPA may not be the best answer but it's the best answer for right now. Get the ball rolling.

To add, Delta ALPA will have nothing to do with JBALPA aside from the fact that we pay dues to the same coffer. jetblue pilots will be on the jetblue MEC and LEC. jetblue pilots will be on our safety committees ect. jetblue pilots will negotiate a contract for jetblue pilots not delta pilots. Thus far, we don't have any regional "business partners" to have a contradiction of intrest with. I'd like to keep it that way. ALPA isn't perfect but it's the fastest way to get a contract now. Your representation will be by jetblue pilots utilizing ALPA's resourses.
I like your point about JBlue Alpa not being subservient to the Big Daddy company. I like knowing a CBA will protect my rights as a worker, whether its mil leave or a SLI. But I don't want to "settle" on Alpa representation because they're the only game in town.

You should settle on the most experienced game in town. ALPA
Vote in good reps., and they will have the best resources, bar none.

I was at Compass w/Alpa. No pizza, poop healthcare and poop wages. Oh yeah, I paid dues. I will say that after we got dumped by big daddy Alpa the reps we elected were and are awesome. VB is the reason CP still has a flow to big daddy. There's alot to be said by who represents "the group" at the table. Delta pilots are seeing that right now. It's also hard to unite 12,000 personalities too.

Keep comparing your regional to jetblue and your regional union experience to a union at jetblue.

As long as you keep doing this the benefits and retirement will keep doing this.
