I love how pilots think a union will all of a sudden make bluejet for sale. We've been for sale since the day Neeleman left. Nothing new here.
Rake is just trying to rile people up but the sad part regarding his comments is 1193 of bluejets pilots are dumb enough to believe it and the accompanying bluejet rhetoric.

So are you. And I am glad you do. People should be fired up about things.
With that said, why is it the common conception that all of the 1193 are equally like minded. I agree there are plenty of company hacks with blinders on, however there are plenty of others that agree there are problems, HUGE problems, but ALPA is not the absolute answer.

To bring it back to latest and greatest what does Jetblue's hiring outlook look like. I think I saw on here things like 10,000 resumes and such? In the last batch of guys hired what qualifications did most pilots have? Jetblue is on my long term list of places I would like to eventually work and I'm curious what amount of time I need to apply and be competitive.

We have roughly 130 pilots who have already passed the interview stage and are awaiting classdates. I am guessing the pool will be drained by mid 2013 at the earliest, so hopefully new interviews late-2012 or spring-2013.
There have been lots hired without PIC turbine in the latest round, but most of these were high time RJ FOs (3000-5000hrs SIC turbojet). Beyond that, there has been a wide array of folks from military, corporate/frac, regionals, furloughed, etc. I was flying with one of the guys who does interviews recently and he said they prefer applicants with at least some glass time in a turbojet, but it isnt a set requirement.
Even if you dont meet these mins I would suggest getting an application on file and keep updating it until you do meet the mins and get a call. Internal recs help, but arent required. Good luck!

Thanks for the quick reply! I have some Multi-turbine PIC both in single pilot and multi crew 12,500 lb+ airplanes. I will just keep building time and put my app in the next time I can.

Sorry your legacy job didn't work out for ya. Must really suck to be as unhappy as you are.
You are in the 1% of the pilot group who only sees the negative side to every topic. The other 99% sees the good and bad, thought long and hard about whether ALPA was right for B6, made an educated vote, respected others for the way they voted and f'ing MOVED ON.
Your negativity on this message board is an embarrassment to the rest of the pilot group.
Is jetBlue perfect? Hell NO. Will it ever be? Hell NO.

+1 Couldn't have said it better myself. LA is doomed to a life of negativity.

Interviewed in mid-October and I'm floating in the shallow end of the pool. If the 70-80 number holds up, I'll be in class by the end of the year with a decent chunk below me as well. Right now, I'm just floating along hoping my current airline doesn't screw things up so badly they liquidate.....
