Spoke to a good friend who is in HR and although he could not reveal details he did confirm there is talk of a slow down. HOWEVER, only TEMPORARY, to allow training to catch up an get a break. I can vouch that they r overwhelmed right now an probably slightly unprepared for many faucets involved in the curriculum. Nonetheless the culture and attitude here is positive and appears to be going in the right direction which personally for me is breath of fresh air. I also heard the 190's are coming later in the year and most new hires will be airbus. Its a different beast, so if you get a class date and you know someone that recently went thru, get the gouge and head start. Good luck everyone.

I have no inside knowledge but perhaps they will do a March 2nd class but no others in march. If JB kept running classes every two weeks like they have been. That would be 3 classes starting in March the 2nd, 16th, and 30th. Maybe the last two are the ones that have been cancelled (if any) I doubt they would offer someone a specific date then cancel it shortly there after but who knows.

I interviewed on the 26th and still haven't heard anything past making it to phase 2. From what I heard from a friend who is finishing up sim, there were no classes planned after the March 2nd class. People just expected them to keep cranking them out every 2 weeks but JB never put out info saying they were going to be doing classdates after the 2nd of March. Classdates are supposed to resume around the second half of April is what he told me.

yes, in april 08' they had a class that was canceled. Further more they canceled all classes after that too. They ended up running 5 through anyways because they had already quit their current jobs. I say hi-5 on JB for bringing those 5 on. Anywhere else would have said tough$#!t.

The latest I heard was new hire classes are sill being running at a rate of 2 per month. What was cancelled in march was upgrade and transition classes. Perhaps waiting for more new hires to hit the line before they upgrade and transition. This info came from an instructor at OSC.

Word of advice to any/all new hires that may or may not have experience in commercial air carrier ops, there will always be some type of rumor going around for the rest of your airline career. About 98% never comes to fruition. I speak from experience having been employed by 5 different FAR 121 airlines. You will worry far less if you let it go in one ear and out the other and not worry about it. Until it comes from a company representative in writing it's just a rumor. You will live the rest of your life in fear to do anything if you listen to all the BS rumors you hear. Every airline is in merger talks, furlough talks, hiring talks, pay raises, pay cuts, etc etc etc. It never changes. Go to work, be happy, have fun.
