The conversation has finally got to me and I don't even have a job at jet blue. Your right, jet blue is not the highest paying airline, and they don't have the best benefits. If you look at all the airlines, including regionals and cargos, jet blue has it better than most. Jet blue is a new company trying to grow and succeed, and doing a great job. If that means you only have it better than 80 percent of pilots out there than so be it. The sacrifice now is a bet that you will have great seniority in 20 years at maybe the highest paying company. If that gamble scares you and being at the highest paying company, despite what direction they are going, is your priority. Then quit, not like you signed an oath. And guess what there are plenty of qualified people out there willing to replace you. I am sick of pilots that brag about being A type personalities that think the cant be replaced, or they deserve the best pay because they are the best pilot. FedEx and southwest is hiring, go there if that's what you want or take a chance and give the company time to grow. I personally know 3 guys who quit southwest in late 90's to go to united. Big mistake, but united was the highest paying company. I know another guy who worked at ups in early 90's and quite to go to northwest, another big mistake. I hope you leave JetBlue, and go to a higher paying company, get furloughed for 12 years like guys I know at American, have to go back at year 3 pay, meanwhile you could of been a senior captain at a company that knows how to run a business that is actually making a profit. You don't care if you company makes money or not, just how fat your wallet is and that's why almost every pilot under the age of 45 has had a tough time because the guys that are now about to retire got greedy and only cared about number one.

Your right, my spelling is probably off too. I have friends at every legacy company out there. Some hate life, and some are happy to be flying. I have worked horrible hours, been away from home for over a year straight, for less pay and by far much more challenging flying. You get paid to do something you enjoy, that for 99 percent of the time is stupid easy and complain about it. Just sounds pathetic and greedy to me. If you hate where your at then leave. I knew that the first comment made to my last post would be some arrogant reply about some little mistake in my writing. Well done, you should be proud and your skills in language. Just proves once again that you are underpaid for how special, and better than everyone else you are.

Uggh-another of the "just happy to be here" type. Try not to lower the bar too much.

So Hawaiian our new T5 partner gets anywhere from 15% to 19.4% 401k contribution. Screw our 3% "GAP" as management says. Just spreading some news. I voted no to ALPA by the way. I think it's time for a change. RM and DB just don't get it. It's not about the crewmember anymore. It's about the shareholder. DB talks about transparency in his commercials. However I don't see it. They didn't get the memo.

Truer words have never been spoken. You will ALWAYS be second in line to the shareholder. There's nothing you can do to change that.

TRKYTR---very well said and I share your exact sentiments. I do work at Jetblue and I love it here as many other people. If it was that bad, the union would have been here a long time ago. It's not perfect but it is better than most, and I know because I've been to 5 other airlines (2 commuters, 1 start up, 2 majors) and 3 private charter companies.
I've been put out of work twice since 911 for 2+ years each time where I lost every freakin thing I have. Then I have to listen to these dumba*** complain about retirement's not good enough, pay is not good enough, profit sharing not good enough, meanwhile they've upgraded to Captain is less than 6 years. Anyway, off my soapbox. Tune out the idiots. Jetblue is an awesome place to work!

Trkyty were fighting to get to 50%. If we were at 80% as you suggested this conversation would be moot. Meanwhile working for a company that is very profitable and very efficient. Forgive this of us who expect to be compensated properly for a job we do well. Most of us have been furloughed and some of still still have our number. Just because I was furloughed from another carrier doesn't mean I'm going to accept less here. What a pathetic argument.

Windriders post is precisely why JetBlue pilots will never achieve industry standard in any measurable category except for "happy to be here" and "culture".

well lake alice...I'm happy with what I get paid so I guess I'll be the cause of why Jetblue will always be a sub standard place to work. Since you have a number with another airline why don't you go back to work for them?? Oh wait because they are still downsizing and haven't offered you recall. I get it now. And I'm sure they probably pay better than everyone else though right?? You're an idiot! I'm just curious what your standard of living would be if Jetblue hadn't hired you. You were probably begging for a job when you got furloughed and would have taken anything and I'm almost positive that wasn't your attitude when you were interviewing or they wouldn't have hired you. You really do think you are entitled to everything don't you.

You'll certainly play a part in why we will always be paid a substandard wage. Thats pathetic and frustrating. As for Jetblue being a great place to work that is an opinion. Everyone has one yet no one is wrong.
