The staffing on the Airbus has not been that fat in a while. Up until the end of Oct/Nov we were stretched thin...very thin. I expect we are heavily staffed now in anticipation of taking delivery of new airplanes next year and growth. Seems we are ahead with crewing of airplanes instead of behind trying to catch up. Nov/Dec were very easy on reserve. I flew only 2 days in December and in the crashpad only 6 nights. The rest were spent at home sitting long call. I was home 22 days I believe. November was much the same with the exception of Thanksgiving. During the summer they flew me right up to 75 hours and then parked me.

Don't worry about it. You'll have PLENTY of reserve crash pad time (At least 1 year on the 190, and at least 2 years on the 320) to figure all that out. If you don't like reserve then either don't take the job or take the 190, reserve on the bus will be a minimum of 2 years.

One thing you will learn about Jetblue staffing is it completely reactive and not proactive. Last summer we got killed. This summer our lines are built to 78 hours. Feast or famine.
Probably not much different elsewhere.

Figured as much with the reduced flying the -190 is seeing. I bet we take 75 deliveries all the while trading out old with new resulting in a small net fleet. Fwiw, I enjoy the plane when it's running well.
