As for using reserves..I am hardly used. I would say that looking at the DRO most are seeing max of 40 hours and some of that was contributed to sick calls and drops through the holidays.
Youre working your days off for no extra pay??! Yes you can pick up trips on your days off, but it only goes towards your 75hr guarantee. Its not worth it in my opinion to come in on a day off to fly and not get extra pay. Youre working for free

When they get the new FSM turned on then it will allow reserve pilots to pick up trips on days off and be paid over guarantee for it.

The 190 and 320 both have about 170 crews in BOS, and as a BOS 320 RSV FO I am averaging about 20-30hrs per month. I am sure it will pick up a bit in the summer time, but I doubt you would break the 75hr guarantee. I suspect the 190 is about the same story as far as the amount of Reserve flying.

Hey now....what gave you the impression I was "crying"? Just trying to answer a question as accurately as possible for the man.

Thanks for all the insight. As we all know how backwards this industry is that I am making a decision to leave a 100k regional job to start over. (sounds crazy to even type that)There are many benefits to moving on but it's a tough decision nonetheless.

How long does it take to get hell letter if you are not going to be hired, is there an avg?

Pretty much everyone I know that interviewed with me on Oct 14th has either gotten the dreaded FedEx letter or hasn't heard anything. Now, that being said, I don't know if there are more FedEx letters coming or if "no news is good news." I know there were some guys on here that interviewed the 13th of Oct and got "you're in the pool" e-mails last week. None of the guys I've kept in touch nor myself from the 14th have seen anything like that.

I do not pick up trips on my days off for free. I try to work it so I stack my R days towards the beginning of the month. If they fly me up towards 45 hours or so then I will pick up trips on my days off to put me over guarantee. Being home based I do not really consider it flying on a "day off". This week for example I am 6 on for RSV. The first two days have been long call and it tentatively shows the next 2 as long as well. Regardless, if they only fly me one or two days this period then the other four were "off" so even if I flew two day trips on my days off I would still have only worked 4 days for the week. If at the end of the month I have only flown a handful of hours and have no chance of breaking guarantee then I would certainly not pick up flying on my days off for free..that makes no sense for me, ill just take the last 10 days of the month off.

If what you are saying is that ANY open time pick up on a day off for a reserve would go automatically above guarantee THAT would be great news. Even my last less than stellar regional had all open time paid above guarantee at 150%. It would be nice to see that here.
