What about getting FLL? I would expect reserve life for awhile but that has to beat commuting. Is it possible to pick up some extra hours down there?

FLL is a 320 only base, and relatively small compared to BOS/JFK. Currently I believe it is running about 1 year before you could hold FLL. I wouldnt count on lots of extra RSA days in FLL due to the smaller size. You could still pick up an RSA in JFK/BOS and commute up there for the reserve shift if you wanted to make some extra cash on a day off.

A320 JFK Reserve is running around 6 months. E190 BOS was running 2 to 3 months, but I'm not sure how long that'll last.
Not to dash any hopes (and I'm certainly NOT the expert), but I haven't even heard of many of the Sept. 14th interviewees being called, let alone the Oct. interviewees. I would guess they've offered classes to 15-20 people at most from the Sept. 14th group out of however many they hired that day.
Good luck and hang in there. One thing is for sure, hiring at least 250 next year as long as the world doesn't come to an end... which, now that I think of it, is actually scheduled to happen in 2012.

I interviewed oct 14th. My good friend interviewed oct 13th. He got the call today for nov 30th class date! The person who called him said she was calling people today and tomorrow! I have my fingers crossed!!!!!! Good luck all!
