In any event, I'm simply repeating what I was told directly from HR.

There may be a difference between when you finish your Phase 2 background check and when you are actually notified that it's complete. The reason I say this is because a bunch of us in my class found out right after our checkride in the sim, and we all had varying work histories.
For what it's worth, I took the earliest interview time offered and ended up in class with a number of people who interviewed at the same time as me. We were at the front of the wave of classes for people who interviewed on the same day. Just sayin.
Still planning 250 next year, more if the rest rules change. Interviews November and early next year (not sure about December). Hang in there and good luck everyone!

What are my chances?
I applied just over a month ago and haven't heard anything. Realistically, I don't think my chances are good. I am soon to retire after 20 years in the navy, and I've been out of the cockpit for a few years. Having said that, my hours are above their mins, and I've got a couple or rec letters from Jet Blue pilots, one of whom is a Captain. Is it at all possible that I would get called based on my past experience, even without the recency?

I have been wrong once before... but you may want to go and get current in something in order to increase your chances. If that's what you mean by recency.
Good luck my friend!!
and thank you for your service.

Now, with that being said; a friend from my previous employer took leave to go do a non flying military obligation. Hadn't sat in a turbine airplane in roughly 5+ years and got on at JB earlier this year. So it CAN happen. Now, naturally his rec letters were very very solid, as well as very very plentiful as the alumni from our previous employer is pretty prevalent at JetBlue.

On another site, looks like calls are going out for the Nov 2nd class date. Someone from the 9/14 interview date got a call for that class, so it looks like there pretty much IS no pool. I'm guessing their background checks aren't 100% done yet, either.

I was checking my email every hour for my 13 Oct int, now I'm checking it every 15 minutes. No calls or emails. I'd like to think I'm a patient guy, but this experience is proving otherwise, lol

two of my former co-workers were offered classes for Nov 2 today. Both of which were offered conditional employment pending the successful completion of the background check. It's the way things are done as far back as I can remember.
