And what is wrong with hiring those that have family that are part of the family?

I didn't have an "in" but if I had, so what?

You are talking about such a small percentage of those hired that it really makes no difference. When a major is hiring 60 per month if you haven't been called it isn't because someone got hired because their mom or dad worked there.

Good for them. They'll get their ATP when they do their 737 type ride at CALs expense. Anytime someone doesn't have to invest another dime to chase this fantacy career the better.

CalPilottoo, I'm curious what your hours/age/qualifications were when you got hired.

I think that most people don't care too much about familly getting hired as long as they are remotely competive.

Default Thank god the civilian types have something new...

to ***** about.

For years when I jumpseated on regionals, I could not count the number of times the pilots would complain that, "so and so carrier only hires military..."

Now that the vast majority of new hires are civilian, you can't blame the military.

Life is never fair and you have to make your own luck!!

Thanks for the info! Of course I am very happy to even be in that pile.....I can wait...even though it can be rough... It will be worth it once the call comes!

My "sponsor" tells me the same thing, and that the short stack is only 75-80ish. Any of you guys here the same things?
