dear lord, it was one thing to see Carl and Tsquare come together, but to see something that brings SWA and DAL pilots together!?
Seriously, I hope SWA gets a pay raise for the 800s. Now we can bicker about companys but I believe one thing for sure- a pay raise for one pilot group is a good thing for every other pilot group.

I agree with Carl AND Tsquare

The aircraft will produce more revenue for the company due to its size and the resultant increase in the number of seats. Why shouldn't the pilot receive a part of that increase in productivity through his paycheck?

Another pilot apologizing for what another pilot makes?
Air travel is one of the few products that gets cheaper to deliver to the public over time.
iahflyr is a management dream employee.
That 737-800 should get a 20% over ride. MINIMUM.

I beg to differ:
<..."Pilots do not generate any revenue, they are an expense, the job is to safely move the aircraft from location to location...">
Pilots DO generate THE revenue, called RASM (revenue per available seat mile);
yes we are an expense (PART of but a small part of CASM)[cost per available seat mile]; and we ensure this revenue made by the factory (airplane) [paying pax plus all the other $$ derived from unbundling the revenue],
are joined up with other flying factories (or drop them off at the end of the distribution chain (final destination) .
Safety is ASSUMED by the flying public due to our record over the past two decades and the existence of the FAA (its existence,not reality of the job they do...) and the airlines would never do anything either directly or indirectly to disabuse a passenger of this assumption.
