DL/B6 makes more sense with regards to JFK and caribbean. DL gives up T2 at JFK, T3 already scheduled for demo, they move intl ops into already announced new construction at T4 and run domestic out of T5. B6's caribbean presence does more to bolster DL's weaker presence when compared to AA.

to the powers that be...
All in favor of SWA/AAI Merger having its own Sub forum under the Major section instead of being castigated, as most of DAL/NWA's best merger discussions, to the out of sight out of mindpilot lounge > mergers and acquisitions pages, please say I.
FTB says I. Thats 1. Not to mention, the success of this one thread versus the existing UAL/CAL thread, and the popularity of this thread for DAL pilots ;) makes me think that the SWA/AAI merger has proven itself to be worthy of a sub forum like the UAL/CAL merger. Another words, if UAL/CAL got one I think SWA/AAI deserves one because I know I wished the DAL/NWA one had it. do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it do it :D |

I don't see the DOT or any Federal Agency putting up any resistance or forcing any changes to this deal. They pretty much bend over for SWA. They even include them somehow as beneficiaries in other airline mergers and slot swap dealings. Kelly pretty much said on CNBC that they are going after the NYC market with the slots in EWR from the CAL merger and AAI's prescence in LGA. I also got a sense that it was all about timing on not announcing this merger until after the CAL deal closed. Bet CAL is feeling srewed by the feds right now. At what point do the feds feel that swa is no longer a "start-up" and does not need "help" competing in the market.

Carl Carl, Reread the posted data carefully. Atlanta carries more O&D traffic then any other single airport in the nation except LAS!!! You can't get much better then that. Note the small figure at the end titled number of airports. |
